Upper Level team members are Erica Zeno (captain), Bennett Hampilos, Caroline Perry, Phoebe Salzman-Cohen, and Sarah Sherrell. Support Team members are Zoe Blecher-Cohen, Francesca Felder, Alison Graham, Megan Felder, Marc Fishbein, Owen Rapaport, and Vidushi Sharma. Stefanie Gigante and Catherine Venturini are the Latin teachers. Members of the ShopRite of Wyckoff development team recently introduced revised site plans for the proposed 62,174-square-foot supermarket at the corners of Wyckoff and Greenwood avenues in Wyckoff. Inserra Supermarkets has been presenting its redevelopment plans for the former supermarket/retail site to the township’s planning board. Professional engineer Andrew Missey of Lapatka Associates presented the updated plans. Revisions include amended layouts and additional parking that Missey said would have little to no impact on the previously presented architectural building designs and vehicle-access points. The development team also is working with the Bergen County on a traffic signal warrant analysis. Extensive field studies indicate the existing level-of-service at the corner of Greenwood and Wyckoff avenues requires a traffic signal. Inserra Supermarkets has offered to incur all expenses associated with this installation. Attorney James Jaworski, who is representing Inserra Supermarkets in its planning board application, said the proposed building “is actually smaller, in total building square footage, than the combined square footage of the two buildings that are already there. The supermarket, and its self-contained departments, have been carefully planned and designed to fit into the township’s existing landscape.” Plans include razing the former A&P/Walgreen’s site, comprised of a 53,000-square-foot building that has been vacant for more than 10 years, and an adjacent 11,700square-foot unoccupied retail center. The features of the proposed building include architectural gables within the front façade that would repeat on the West Main Street façade. Each gable would be highlighted by horizontal solid siding and roof shingle typically used in residential designs to complement the two-tone redbrick exterior façade. Brick quoins would be incorporated at each corner of the building to evoke a more traditional architectural motif. Predominantly two-tone red brick, the rear façade would feature dyed concrete below loading dock doors, which would match the building’s brick color for visual continuity. Energy-efficient mechanical systems would be centrally located on the roof and screened as needed to avoid street-level visibility. Approximately 1,130 new shade trees and shrubs are also proposed.
