Members of the NW Bergen Coalition of Historic Organizations recently met to finalize plans for the History Day Tour on May 21. On that day, eight historical sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.: The Schoolhouse Museum in Ridgewood, The Hermitage in Ho-Ho-Kus, The John Fell House in Allendale, The Hopper-Goetschius House in Upper Saddle River, the Old Stone House in Ramsey, the Mahwah Museum, the Van Allen House in Oakland, and the Zabriskie House in Wyckoff. This will be a rare opportunity to explore the rich 18th and 19th century history of this area. Tickets to tour all eight sites are $10 per person; children age 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. Tickets are available at the Schoolhouse Museum, The Hermitage, Ho-Ho-Kus Inn and Tavern, Abma’s Farm, and through the participating historical societies. For ticket information, call (201) 327-2236 or (201) 6527354 or e-mail info@ridgewoodhistoricalsociety.org.
