Gabbert amended this to closer to $25 a year, but a formal presentation has yet to be made. “If the utility were to sell land assets, could we direct that those funds be used for debt service?” Riche again suggested. Moritz said he was looking into this, and would also send out cards with the next water bill showing customers how to check their meters against their bills. Mayor Killion said the council would once again talk over the proposal. The council also heard a proposal to build a $600,000 structure to serve as a truck wash, adding $180,000 worth of power washing equipment, and accepting trucks from other communities in a fee-paid basis. Killion and Gabbert agreed that, for the time being, the village trucks could be washed in a more cost-effective manner that didn’t involve any new construction.
