F O CUS on Franklin Lakes Businesses
ose Belle, which is Italian for “beautiful things,” is a delightful gift and invitation shop located at 810 High Mountain Road in Franklin Lakes. Owned by The Market Basket, Cose Belle opened the week before Thanksgiving 2010, just around the corner from The Market Basket (on the Starbucks side of the shopping center). “Customers already love the store,” says Erica Mazzilli, manager and buyer. “We’ve had a lot of positive feedback, and people say they’re pleased to have us in town.” New merchandise is always coming in, and repeat customers stop by a few times a week to view the ever-changing Cose Belle selection of unique gifts and home décor items. Cose Belle carries accessories, table top, jewelry, candles, Italian ceramics, and baby items – all of which can be gift wrapped on the spot. They carry lines such as Vietri, Arte Italica, and Beatriz Ball to name just a few. The wide range of price points makes the shop’s selection of beautiful things accessible to everyone, and the attentive customer service encourages shoppers to return. Customers may recognize Erica, who is also the housewares buyer for the Market Basket. Others may also remember Elenore Marmo, who previously worked at Presence, and knows everything there is to know about invitations. “Elenore is our invitation guru,” Erica says. She welcomes anyone who is planning a special event, from a bar or bat mitzvah to a wedding or anniversary, to visit Cose Belle and ask Elenore for advice. Printing is also done in-house with their extensive selection of imprintable invitations. Open six days a week, Cose Belle welcomes customers between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday. Phone (201) 891-2100 for more information.

Nina Daly of First Step Preschool
ina Daly still loves her job! Sixteen years ago, she opened First Step Preschool and she’s been an integral part of the Franklin Lakes community ever since. It’s her enthusiasm and energy for her kids that makes each day an adventure. “My philosophy has always been that children should be excited about learning,” says Nina. “I have listened to the needs of my parents and have created classes with an emphasis on small class size, certified teachers, and an academic curriculum.” First Step offers a wide range of special programs: karate, cooking, Spanish, dance, art and Kindergarten enrichment. “A child’s first years at Joey, Arman, Alexandra, Nina Daly and Emmy school set a foundation for all their educational goals. We pride ourselves on knowing that our staff is full of caring individuals who create a learning environment that any parent would want for his or her child,” notes Nina. As her school continues to grow by leaps and bounds, she is continually addressing the increasing concern for children with allergies. In fact, she has established the first GREEN SCHOOL in the area. “It has been my goal to provide the healthiest environment for all children to reach their fullest potential. And I am proud and happy to say that at First Step – we have done that.” Spots are still available at First Step for the 2010-11 school year. For more information, visit firststeppreschoolnj.com or call Nina Daly at (201) 847-8198. The school is located at 454 Pulis Avenue in Franklin Lakes.
