March 2, 2011 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • Page 3 Glen Rock High school principal accepts post in River Edge by John Koster Glen Rock High School Principal James McCarthy has accepted a post as principal of Saint Peter Academy in River Edge, a K-8 Roman Catholic parochial school. “I am very excited to become part of Saint Peter Academy and to help our students as they successfully navigate their academic and faith journey,” McCarthy said in a joint release issued by The Rev. Michael Sheehan, of Saint Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in River Edge and Lawrence Fama of Our Lady Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Maywood. “We are so very pleased to welcome an experienced educator, a committed Catholic, and a good family man to Saint Peter Academy as we continue the long tradition of excellent academic and faith foundation for the children in our care,” Sheehan and Fama said. “Jim McCarthy will help write a new chapter in our school history – one characterized by renewed vision, steady growth and many wonderful opportunities for our children and their families.” McCarthy attended the former Saint Luke’s School in Ho-Ho-Kus and Saint Anne School in Fair Lawn. He has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in administration and supervision from Jersey City State College, now known as New Jersey State University. He is a certified teacher of the handicapped and a certified New Jersey school principal.
