Students hear promise of good health from HUMC
Carol Bush of the Health Awareness Regional Program at Hackensack University Medical Center visited Ben Franklin Middle School and conducted an hour-long educational program in conjunction with the Promise Foundation in recognition of Melanoma month. Fourteen hundred Ridgewood middle school students will benefit from the effort to prevent skin cancer by learning about melanoma and safe sun exposure. The pilot program includes a presentation from HARP, introduction of a poster contest and goody bags for the students. Kathy
Murren and Donna Skettini arranged the program at BFMS. The Promise Foundation’s goal is to expand the program throughout Bergen County.
