Glen Rock June 8, 2011 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • Page 5 The Glen Rock Women in Community Service will sponsor its annual “Spread a Little Sunshine” food collection on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12 at Kilroy’s Wonder Market. The drive will benefit clients of the Center for Food Service group aims to ‘Spread a Little Sunshine’ Action and Emmanuel Cancer Foundation. WICS will collect donations of nonperishable food and personal care items at Kilroy’s, 288 Rock Road in Glen Rock, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. CFA serves over 1,000 Bergen County families who rely on their organization for food and personal care items and for rental and utility assistance. ECF provides financial and emotional support to families who have a child battling cancer. These organizations have benefited greatly from the WICS drives over the last several years. Each drive has resulted in the collection of 250 to 300 bags of food that are delivered by volunteers to the organizations for distribution to their clients. Due to the current economic situation, the needs of these organizations are at very high levels. Members of Glen Rock Women in Community Service have conducted two food drives yearly in February and June for the past several years. Once again, Kilroy’s has generously agreed to support the WICS efforts to collect needed items at the store. Kilroy’s will identify items by placing “Food Drive: Spread a Little Sunshine” labels near the products on the shelves to make the needed items easy for shoppers to spot. WICS and the volunteers at CFA and ECF are appreciative for the support they receive from the customers of Kilroy’s and the Glen Rock community. Individuals who would like to make a tax-deductible financial donation may send checks to: Glen Rock Women in Community Service, P.O. Box 921, Glen Rock, NJ 07452.
