He was employed as the head of fixed voice sales for North America for Nokia Siemens Networks. He had worked for Siemens for 25 years. He was a volunteer many local organizations, including Dads’ Night, Jamboree, and the Maroons Soccer Club. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his daughters Amy Powers and Kate Buchner, and his brothers Robert Buchner of Latham, New York and William Buchner of Fairfield, Connecticut. Michael J. “Mike” Perrotta of Wyckoff, formerly of Hawthorne, died July 18. He was 92. He was the vice president of the UAW Local 906 at the Ford Motor Plant in Mahwah and later served as the vice president of the UAW Retirees. He was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth’s RC Church in Wyckoff. He is survived by his wife Mary (nee Portella) Perrotta, his daughter Jean M. Riva of North Haledon, and one granddaughter. Portway, formerly of Ridgewood and Franklin Lakes, died July 19. He was 84. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He graduated from Fordham Preparatory School, Fordham University and earned his degree in dentistry from Columbia University. He was a professor at Columbia Dental School until 1966, when he entered into private practice as an endodontist in New York City, where he worked for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Upper Montclair Country Club and a parishioner at Saint Aloysius Church in Caldwell. He is survived by his children Gregg Portway, Doug Portway, and Nan Cooney, six grandchildren, and his brother William Portway. He was predeceased by his wife Ann. Helen Margaret Riccardi, nee Canzano, of Wyckoff, formerly of Franklin Lakes, died July 20. She was 77. Before she was a real estate associate with Weichert Realtors in Tenafly, she was the owner of the Italian Carousel Gourmet Deli in Ramsey. She is survived by her children Rachel Addonizio of Florham Park, Anthony III and Sophia Riccardi of Oakland, Christopher and Dawn Riccardi of Wall, Robert and Sheila Riccardi of Paramus, Gregory and Keri Riccardi of Allendale, and Matthew Riccardi of Oakland, Edward Buchner 14 grandchildren, her siblings Anthony Canzano, Edward Canzano, Vincenza Pinelli, Ida Tozzi, Rose Lombardi, Albert Canzano, Anne Canzano, and Rita Bello, and her former husband Anthony Riccardi Jr. She was predeceased by her siblings Lawrence, Thomas, and Joseph Canzano, and Angelina Brown. Neill Richards of Glen Rock died July 15. Before retiring in 2000, he was a minister serving with the United Church of Christ Board for World Ministries as director of missionary services, and later as director of the UCC’s World Hunger programs. He was a member of the Community Church of Glen Rock, and had been an active volunteer at the Glen Rock Library, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and Whittier College Alumni Association. He is survived by his wife Jessie Marilyn, his sons Ross, Tendai, and Mark, six grandchildren, and his brother the Rev. Dr. Stacy Richards. She was 94. In young adulthood, she hosted a radio show in Binghamton, New York. She embarked on a newspaper career, first in Owego, New York and then at the Syracuse Post-Standard. She was editor for Beauty Fashion magazine in New York City, and before retiring, she was vice president of public relations of the United States headquarters of Myrurgia Perfumes of Barcelona, later Fragrances Selective. She was a Girl Scout leader, a was a member of the Ramsey Free Public Library Board, the Ramsey Historical Association and Old Stone House Museum, the Ladies’ Auxiliary at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, the New Jersey Symphony, and other groups. She was a member of the Saint John’s Memorial Episcopal Church in Ramsey. She is survived by her children Jane Hylicke of Bridgewater and Joe Sage of Scottsdale, Arizona, one granddaughter, one great-grandson, and her siblings Jeff Lyon of Watkins Glen, New York, and Doris Frank of Berlin.
