O’Brien is the popular AquaCore Dynamics Instructor in Glen Rock’s Community School at the Glen Rock Municipal Pool and at the YMHA of Wayne. Glen Rock residents and O’Brien’s many friends are hoping to name her as a finalist for the “energized woman” honor by voting for her at http://www.lovefeelinghealthy.com between Jan. 17 and 31. One vote is permitted per person per day. O’Brien was nominated by members of her AquaCore Dynamics class after one member, Glen Rock resident Bonnie Sirower, heard about the contest on WCBS 1010 News Radio in December. Nominators had to create a 300 word-essay that answered the question, “What are her secrets to enjoying life and love to the fullest during the holidays?” Before she retired, O’Brien was principal of PS 9 in New York City. Since her retirement, she has become a physical instruction teacher. She even has a brown belt in karate. Recently, she took a test for an additional prestigious water instructor certification; the next oldest person to take the exam was 29. O’Brien is a member of the Glen Rock Hotsie Totsie Ladies, and a devoted grandmother.
