He had been an executive recruiter at Mae Daly, Olsten Services, and later opened his own business, Power Staffing Services. He was a member of the Irish Business Organization, where he was honored as Businessman of the Year. He served on the board of directors of the Covenant House. He was a past Grand Knight of Council #1736 in Ridgewood. He was a member of the Grand Haven Golf Club. He served as a Eucharistic minister at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church in Flagler Beach, Florida, and was a minister of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society. He was a member of the Irish Social Club of Palm Coast, and the Notre Dame Council in Flagler Beach. He is survived by his wife Mary of Palm Coast, his children Kathie Sanders of Glen Rock, Kristen O’Hara of Bronxville, New York, Daniel Jr. of Hawthorne, three grandchildren, and his siblings Rosemary O’Reilly of North Carolina and Henry Comiskey of New Jersey. Before retiring in 1992, she worked for Bendix for over 30 years. She sang in the choir of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Mahwah, and was a member of Saint Joseph’s Mother’s Club in East Rutherford, and the Knights of Columbus Saint Francis of Assisi Council #4524 Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her children John Czarnogursky Jr. of East Rutherford and Debra Cooney of Moonachie, five grandchildren, and her siblings Ellen Pointer of South Carolina and Robert Hickey of Pennsylvania. DeGroat of Mahwah died Jan. 1. He was 81. He retired from Lederle Labs in Pearl River, New York. He was 86. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. Before retiring, he was an accountant for Lowe Paper Company in Ridgefield for 39 years. He was a parishioner and Eucharistic minister at Saint Elizabeth’s R.C. Church in Wyckoff. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at Saint Elizabeth’s and a member of the American Legion Post #57 in Waldwick. She was a member of the Democratic Club and was a civil rights activist. She was a writer of children’s plays and films on Irish history. She is survived by her children Edward Meyers and John Meyers, three grandchildren, and her siblings Jerry O’Sullivan and Joan Ducey. He joined the family business, Reinauer Transportation Companies, based in Newark and Staten Island, New York. The company is now known as Reinauer Maritime Group based in New York and Boston, Massachusetts. He was a member of the Ridgewood Country Club, Navisink Country Club, New York Athletic Club, and Mid-Ocean Club, Bermuda.
