He was a 41-year member of the Amalgamated Lithographers of America Local #1, where he served as a union delegate and shop steward. Before retiring in 1989, he was a lithographer with Lasky Company. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church in Ridgewood. He is survived by his wife Regina (nee Fitzpatrick), his children Bernadette Tiernan of Washington Township, Vicki Quigley of Syracuse, New York, Kathleen Appleton of Allendale, and Regina Burke of McLean, Virginia, and 10 grandchildren. She was 78. Before retiring, she worked for Suburban Fuel Co. of Paramus. She is survived by her son Robert of Atlanta, Georgia, and her sister Peggy Harris of Rocky Hill, two grandsons, and two great-grandchildren. He was 36. He was a managing director in global real estate for Citigroup, trading for 14 years in various locations including Tokyo, London, and New York. She is survived by her fiancé Jim Clarke, his daughter Katherine Clarke, her daughter Amanda de Zayas, and her sister Maureen Borkowski. Eileen C. Mendillo, nee Milliken, of Midland Park died Feb. 7. She was 86. She had worked for Midland Park Lumber, and was a parishioner of the Church of the Nativity in Midland Park. He was a graduate of William Paterson College, and began his teaching career teaching middle school social studies. He was hired to teach math at Ramsey High School in 1970. During that time, he coached basketball, cross country, track, and swimming. His cross country and track teams were dominant throughout the ‘70s, winning numerous league titles and major meets, including a state championship in 1978. Under his guidance, dozens of athletes earned all-league, county and state honors highlighted by Roger Jones, who won the prestigious Golden West Invitational as the National Champion. He was appointed athletic director in 1981. During his tenure, he served as executive secretary of the NBIL from 1988-1996 and served as BCCA president. He ran Ramsey Recreation Day Camp for 20 years. He was voted Track, Cross Country and Indoor Track Coach of the Year multiple times, including in 1971-72, ‘76, and ‘78. He was a member of the Century Club BCCA and the Century Club BCWCA. He was a two-time Track Official of the Year and was recognized by NJSIAA for service to track. He was a 1995 recipient of the YMCA Service Award and voted 2007 Bergen County Athletic Director of the Year. He had been treasurer of Big North since its inception. He is survived by his wife Janet, his sister Marie Gambineri, and many nieces and nephews. Arrangements were made by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey.
