Mostly self-taught, the artist has studied at the Ridgewood Art Institute with noted artist John Phillip Osborne. Grissoni took drawing classes with Edward Broussard of the Ridgewood Art Institute, and is currently a studying with Sal Calderone in Waldwick. He has attended numerous workshops including at the Hilton Head Art League on Hilton Head Island, SC. He prefers to paint in the field; however, a photo and some sketching help him finish in his home studio. “I prefer landscapes, especially painting them en plein air if I have the time,” said Grisoni. He paints landscapes, portraits, and still lifes. He has been most influenced by American artists of The Hudson River School including Durand, Church, Cole, and Inness. His influences also include Andrew Wyeth, Edward Hopper, Singer, and Winslow Homer. “I strive to paint in a realistic impressionistic style. If I had all the time in the world, I would paint all over the Hudson River Valley, a world treasure in our back yard,” the artist said. He has exhibited at the Ridgewood Art Institute, “The Stable” in Ridgewood, and many local art shows in northern New Jersey. Du Bois moved to the United States from Belgium in 1969, settling in Ridgewood with her husband and four children. An art major during her university training, she continued studying at the Art Student League in New York City and later with Ed Broussard and Joel Popadics at the Ridgewood Art Institute. She has also studied with Eli Rosenthal at the Stable in Ridgewood, Christine Friedman at the New Milford Art Center, and ‘Baroque Square, Italy’ by Monique “Paige” du Bois ‘Piermont Fields’ by John F.
