Her collection of landscape oil paintings is entitled “Taking a Moment.” An artist’s reception is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 20 from 2 to 4 p.m. All are invited to attend. Fundraiser will benefit play center The New Park ‘N Play at 15 Shuart Lane in Ramsey will hold a fundraiser at Pizza Fusion of Ridgewood on Thursday, Feb. 3. The day of the event, Pizza Fusion, located at 33 Godwin Avenue in Ridgewood, will donate 10 percent of the total receipts for every delivery, carry out, or dine-in order by customers who mention The New Park ‘N Play. The New Park ‘N Play, a non-profit organization run by volunteer parents, provides a creative, safe, and clean indoor play center for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Deutsch entertains at Woman’s Club lunch Nina Deutsch, pianist, singer, and speaker, will discuss the music and personalities of the great Broadway composers including Gershwin, Rodgers, Kern, and Berlin, and living composer Bob Dylan at the Feb. 16 luncheon of The Woman’s Club of Ridgewood. The program, which will be held at 215 West Ridgewood Avenue in Ridgewood, is sponsored by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The club will hold a business meeting at 11:30 a.m. followed by a catered lunch at noon. The program will begin after lunch. The scholarships are awarded every year to high school seniors who perform at the festival and whose musical skills and participation in community outreach set them apart from their peers. The festival will be held April 2 at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, 113 Cottage Place in Ridgewood. The festival celebrates the musical gifts of young performers, providing a non-competitive performance venue for elementary, middle, and high school students from all over northern New Jersey. The concerts feature classical music Valerie Mankoff Lewis exhibits artwork From Feb. 12 through March 13, The Cottage Place Gallery will host “Reveries and Ruminations,” an exhibit of collage and mixed media paintings by award-winning Kinnelon artist Valerie Lewis Mankoff. The gallery is located at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, 113 Cottage Place.Mankoff has exhibited her work in numerous locations in New Jersey and New York City. She has studied with Jonathan Talbot and Gerald Brommer. She is an artist, painter, poet, collagist, and psychoanalyst. Her art, described as romantic with a tinge of sadness, is colorful, textural, and deeply layered. Each work has been inspired by significant others, locations, and special objects.The opening reception will be held Feb. 12 from 2 to 5 p.m. The public is welcome. Opera company to perform love songs The Ridgewood Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company will present “A Gilbert & Sullivan Valentine: Songs We Love to Sing” on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Fair Lawn Community Center, 10-10 20th Street, Fair Lawn. The music and mirth of Gilbert and Sullivan have been entertaining people since Victorian times. The Ridgewood G&S Opera Company has been performing these delightful shows in New Jersey for 75 years. The group recently performed at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The upcoming fundraiser concert will offer a sampling of operas in the G&S repertoire. Corcoran to address OLMC MOMs The OLMC MOMs Group will present an Evening Talk for Parents with Dennis Corcoran on Thursday, Feb. 10. Corcoran, pastoral associate at Church of Christ the King in New Vernon, will discuss how faith is passed on to the next generation. Yannuzzi works to be displayed Selected watercolors and photographs by Rose Yannuzzi will be exhibited at the Ridgewood Public Library now through Feb. 28. The library will hold a formal reception for Yannuzzi on Feb. 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the library, 125 North Maple Avenue.A Rockland County resident, Yannuzzi is a watercolor artist and photographer. She focuses on landscapes, waterscapes, dramatic skies, and flowers. Yannuzzi has exhibited her work at juried competitions at the Ridgewood Art Institute, the Edward Hopper House, and the Northeast Watercolor Society 2010 Annual Member Show. She has also shown her work at the Saint Catherine’s 11th Annual Photo, Art, and Poetry Exhibition. In May 2010, she had a solo exhibit of her work at the Suffern Free Library. She received the honorary award for the category of watercolors/pastels for the body of her watercolor paintings exhibited in September 2010 at the 12th Annual Art at the Oval 2010 Juried Fine Art and Fine Craft Exhibition in Livingston.
