AARP volunteer tax advisors will be available Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 2 through April 13. Tax advisors will only do simple returns. O’Toole to address area Tea Party The West Bergen Tea Party will host Senator Kevin O’Toole Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. at the Larkin House, 380 Godwin Avenue in Wyckoff. Author luncheon features McCall Smith Best-selling novelist Alexander McCall Smith will be the guest speaker at Friends of the Ridgewood Library’s 22nd Annual Author Luncheon, scheduled Thursday, March 31 at The Woodcliff Lake Hilton. Author of the internationally acclaimed No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series, McCall Smith has penned over 60 books and four series. His long-awaited novel, “Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party,” will be released on March 22 and will be available for sale at the luncheon. The author will speak and sign copies of his books. Proceeds from the event, which includes a special auction, will benefit the Ridgewood Public Library. Seating is limited and advance reservations are required. Women’s Wellness Day slated The Wyckoff Family YMCA, 691 Wyckoff Avenue, Wyckoff, will present “Women’s Wellness Day” on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This women-only event will feature guest speaker Martha MacCallum, the celebrated FOX News journalist. The day includes lunch, chair massage, prizes, diet lecture, and a choice of a yoga or Zumba class. This event is open to members and non-members alike. Caregiver support group meets Christian Health Care Adult Day Services at Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff will hold a Caregiver Support Group from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8. The meeting is open to the public and no reservations are necessary. The group will now meet in the Building 1 all-purpose room at the health care center, 301 Sicomac Avenue in Wyckoff. Facilitated by Kerri Sherer, LSW, the meeting provides support to people caring for a loved one suffering from dementia and other medical problems relating to aging. Information about area social services will be available. Beginning in March, the Caregiver Support Group will be held on the first Tuesday of every month. Choral scholarship offered Auditions for the Ridgewood Choral’s Florence Reinauer Memorial Music Award of $2,000 will be held Saturday, March 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, 113 Cottage Place, Ridgewood. Auditions are open to high school seniors in Bergen, Passaic, Essex, and Rockland counties, who are interested in pursuing a formal education in voice or instrument at a school of higher learning. Applications will be considered on a firstcome, first served basis and must be received by Feb. 11. Applicants chosen to audition will be notified by mail and should be prepared to perform two or three brief selections that demonstrate their musical ability and versatility. The scholarship recipient will be the guest soloist at the Choral’s spring concert on Friday, April 15 at 8 p.m. at the West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood. Cash for Gold fundraiser set The Highlands Hockey Association will host its “Cash for Gold” fundraiser on Monday, Feb. 7 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Savini’s Restaurant, 168 West Crescent Avenue, Allendale.
