Owner Nancy Schuring invites everyone to her March 2 Geminar, which will be held at the store at 7 p.m. Gemstone cutter Lisa Elser will discuss her craft. The Geminar will be followed by a March 3 gem sale. “Gems of the Dance: Uniting for a Better World” will be held at the Brick House in Wyckoff on April 2. This 7 p.m. Nancy Shuring with Julie fundraiser will include Wyckoff School of Dance students in a ballet inspired by a Balanchine classic, a guest speaker from the New York City Ballet, a display of gems from Madagascar, and a silent auction of jewelry and ballet memorabilia. Guests will enjoy champagne, hors d’oeuvres, and dessert. Tickets are $50, and are available at DFJ. Proceeds will benefit the Devon Foundation, which provides scholarships for lapidary students in Madagascar. In honor of William and Kate’s nuptials, DFJ has set a Royal Wedding Sapphire Show for April 29 and 30. Sapphires and royal jewelry will be highlighted at this in-store event.
