Winter holiday season is rich in movie releases
by Dennis Seuling The Villadom TIMES will be on hiatus for the holidays, a time that is particularly rich in movie releases. A look at what’s coming in the next few weeks follows. “The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn,” due in theaters Dec. 21, is Steven Spielberg’s treatment of a character created by Belgian comics writer and artist Georges Remi, better known to the world by his pen name “Herge.” Tintin is an intrepid young reporter with a cowlick whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into Indiana Jones-like high adventure when he and his friends discover directions to a sunken ship and go on a treasure hunt. Jamie Bell stars as the title character and Daniel Craig plays the nefarious Red Rackham. The international cast includes Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Toby Jones, and Mackenzie Crook. Using motion capture technique, which rotoscopes live actors, the film (continued on page 24)
