He is survived by his children Barry DeMercurio of North Carolina, Cindy Lindeberg of Oakland, Judy Jamros of Oakland, and Jill VanLaningham of Virginia, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth (nee Howard) DeMercurio and his son Rocco Jerry DeMercurio. Arrangements were made by the Oakland Memorial Home in Oakland. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education at Hunter College in New York City, a master’s degree in literacy and reading education at William Paterson University in Wayne, and post master’s credits at Montclair State University. Before retiring, she was a reading specialist and teacher at Public School Number 7 in Paterson. She previously taught fourth grade at Public School Number 7. She was a member of the Fair Lawn Jewish Center. She is survived by her daughter Joan Dorbian of New York City, three grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert Dorbian. Arrangements were made by Louis Suburban Chapel in Fair Lawn. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Catherine E. Morris Kotkin, nee Schneider, of Ridgewood died Dec. 8. She was 88. Before retiring, she was a secretary at Timeplex. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her daughter Dorothy Molnar of Stafford Township, her granddaughters Savario J. DeMercurio Laura Molnar of Clifton, Rebecca Molnar of Maplewood, and Jennifer Miller of Pennsauken, and her nephew John Schwab of Ridgewood. Jane Margaret Livingstone, nee Krieger, of Ocean Grove, formerly of Plainfield, Ridgewood, Ho-Ho-Kus, and Springfield, Massachusetts, died Dec. 7. She was 85. She graduated from Eastside High School in Paterson and attended secretarial school. She was employed at NBC headquarters in Rockefeller Center for several years. She was a Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She served as the first PTA president for Hawes School in Ridgewood, and worked for many years in Ridgewood as a real estate agent, bookkeeper, and office manager for Puritz and Associates. She was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ridgewood and Saint Paul’s Methodist Church in Ocean Grove. She is survived by her children James of Fair Lawn, Carol of Urbana, Illinois, and Bob of Ho-Ho-Kus, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Edward Livingstone, and her parents Jane Buick Krieger (nee Young) and James Krieger (b. Johannes Krijger). Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh in Ridgewood. David Fredrick McIntosh of Ridgewood died Dec. 1. He was 62. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a graduate of Glen Rock High School Class of 1967. He was a member of American Legion Post 145 in Glen Rock. He was employed by Beekman Wine & Liquors in Glen Rock for over 40 years, and retired as store manager in 2009. He was a parishioner at All Saints Episcopal Church in Glen Rock. He is survived by his wife Wendy (Hemkes) McIntosh, his children David F. McIntosh II and Tracy Anne McIntosh, and his siblings Tony McIntosh, James McIntosh, and Millicent Jane Sullivan. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh in Ridgewood. Joanne Moscowitz of Tega Cay, South Carolina, formerly of Ridgewood and Bethel, Connecticut, died Dec. 5. She was 68. She is survived by her husband Louis, her sons Allen Moscowitz and Jeffrey Moscowitz, and her siblings Barbara, Ruth, and Michael. She was a member of Saint Catharine R.C. Church in Jane Margaret Livingstone Glen Rock. She had been a volunteer at her church school organizations and with the Cub Scouts. She is survived by her children Michael A. Salerno and Carol Lee Faro, and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Michael A. Church in Wyckoff. She is survived by her children Stephen Vecchiotti of Vernon and Corinne Canali of Wayne, two grandchildren, and one great-grandson. She was predeceased by her husband Camillo. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Shirley Waters, nee Covert, of Lilburn, Georgia, formerly of Waldwick, died Dec. 4. She was 78. She worked for many years for Sealfons, the Ridgewood News, and Ramapo College of New Jersey before retiring to Georgia in 1997. She is survived by her children Randy Waters of Lilburn, Georgia, Becky Bulris of Roswell, Georgia, Wendy Waters of Bonita Springs, Florida, Rusty Waters of Santa Clara, California, Don Waters of Midland Park, and Jon Waters of Beresford, South Dakota. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, her siblings Minetta Covert Thompson of Charleston, South Carolina and Charles Covert of Richmond, Virginia, and her aunt Ruth Parish of Charleston, South Carolina. She was predeceased by her daughter Donna. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice. Jerry Weinstein of Mahwah, formerly of Wyckoff and Ridgewood, died Dec. 4. He was 83. He graduated from City College in New York with a B.S. in geology, and received a master’s in education from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He began his career teaching science at the psychiatric unit at Bellevue Hospital. During the 1970s and 1980s, he taught special education and science for the Bergenfield school system. He was a member of the Ridgewood Ambulance Corps. He played clarinet with the Ridgewood Concert Band and Waldwick Band. Along with his wife, he owned two bed and breakfasts in Ocean Grove. He is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Bonnie Sarah Falk of Oakland, California, one grandson, stepsons Douglas, Bruce, and Duncan LaMonte, four step-grandchildren, and his sister Beatrice Wolin of Stoney Brook, New York.
