Ridgewood August 24, 2011 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • Page 7 Temple Beth Sholom of Fair Lawn and Temple Israel and Jewish Community Center of Ridgewood have jointly announced that their two Hebrew schools will launch a new partnership called the Northern New Jersey Jewish Academy. The new two-day-per-week academy will begin the 2011-12 school year on Sept. 11. The idea for the new consortium school was conceived by the rabbis of the two synagogues: Rabbi David J. Fine, Ph.D., of Temple Israel, and Rabbi Alberto Zeilicovich of Temple Beth Sholom, and was approved by both synagogues’ boards. Litwin, Temple Israel’s associate rabbi, will direct the school. According to Rabbi Litwin, “The NNJJA consortium not only benefits the students, but it also benefits the community, as coming together helps to break down barriers, to build bridges between synagogues, and to create new and wonderful friendships and connections amongst our families.” All Hebrew school sessions will take place at Temple Israel with all students (continued on page 23) Rabbi David J.
