The Sunset Rotary Club of Ridgewood, Paramus, and Glen Rock recently hosted Rick Claydon, executive director of the Ridgewood YMCA. He was accompanied by Jennifer Batelli, who gave a presentation highlighting the Y’s Haiti Assistance Program. Claydon related how the Y program has constructed housing and hospital facilities from 12 sea freight containers that had been used to ship essential goods such as clothing and medical supplies to Haitian relief agencies. The Rotarians who attended this presentation were impressed by the Y’s efforts, which parallel similar efforts by several Rotary clubs and districts across the country. The Sunset Rotary Club of Ridgewood, Paramus, and Glen Rock meets every Wednesday at the Bone Fish Grill located in the Crowne Plaza Hotel adjacent to Paramus Park Mall. All are welcome to join the club and enjoy the camaraderie and benefits of giving service above self.
