Michael E. Guerrasio of Franklin Lakes, formerly of Carlstadt, died July 23. He was 64. He was a member of the Army National Guard. Before retiring in 2009, he was a partner and CPA with KPMG in Manhattan for over 40 years. He was a member of Hackensack Golf Club in Oradell and Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes. He had been a volunteer fireman in Medford, New York. He was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church in Franklin Lakes. He is survived by his wife Doris (nee Nicholson), his daughters Sally Tryon of Oakland and Edna Sanfilippo of Hoboken, one granddaughter, his stepmother Ruth Guerrasio of Brightwaters, New York, and his brothers James and Andrew, both of Medford, New York, Philip of Port Jefferson, New York, and Warren of Mastic, New York, and 13 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Irene (nee Zarembo) Guerrasio. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Eileen Harnett, nee Curtin, of Waldwick, formerly of Hillsdale, died July 26. She was born in Meinleitrim, County Kerry, Ireland. She is survived by her husband John Harnett, her children Mary Carabellese, Eileen Lawson, and Sally Bartro, five grandchildren, and her siblings Timmy, Charles, Tom, and Dennis. She was predeceased by her siblings Tessie Lane and Sarah May Curtin. Arrangements were made by Becker Funeral Home in Westwood. Hovey of Waldwick, formerly of Wyckoff, died July 21. He was 65. He was an inventory clerk for American Musical Supply of Oakland. He was a member of the Ridgewood United Methodist Church. He is survived by his siblings Kenneth Hovey of Franklin Lakes, John Hovey of Wyckoff, and Suzanne Landshof of Carmel, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews. Thomas Kearns of Jenison, Michigan, formerly of Mahwah, died July 22. He was 73. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was born in Kanturk, County Cork, Ireland. Before retiring in 2003, he was employed at Tzell Travel in New York City, previous to that he worked for Trans World Airlines. Lauretta, nee Dudek, of Hamilton, Ohio, formerly of Wyckoff, died July 26. She was 95. She was a seamstress. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Before retiring in 1980, he as employed by the U.S. Customs Department. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Church in Ridgewood. He is survived by his wife Mary (nee Parks), his children Clare Crowley of Stewart, Florida, Arthur Ramsdell of Saddle River, Betsy Trum of Ramsey, and Jane Certo of Ridgewood, 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Carleton John Ryffel of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, formerly of Allendale, died July 14. He was 66. He is survived by his children Jennifer L. Matamoros of Fort Myers, Florida, Amy F. Kragh of Ocala, Florida, and Eric C. Ryffel of Acres, Florida, one granddaughter, his parents Henry and Fay Ryffel of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and his sister Carolyn Procopio of Mahwah. Louis Ryffel Jr. of Mahwah died July 24. He was 51. Before retiring, he was a police officer in Franklin Lakes. Born in Nanjing, she was raised in Qingdao, China. She graduated from high school as the valedictorian of the Shandong Province. She earned a full academic scholarship to Beijing Normal University and majored in history and geography. Before retiring, she was a high school teacher in Beijing, China. She represented the Shandong Province nationally in volleyball and basketball. She is survived by her children Dashi Yang of Beijing, Dr. Min Yang of Ridgewood, and Daying Yang of Beijing, and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Professor Xiangkui Yang. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburg Funeral Home in Ridgewood. James J. Sweeney of Upper Saddle River, formerly of Lodi, died July 25. He was 70. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Cuban Missile Crisis. He served in the New Jersey State Police for 22 years. He was an aide to Governor Brendan Byrne and to Colonel Kelly, Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police. He later worked for the State of New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice until his retirement. He is survived by his wife Charlotte Sweeney (nee Baldino), his children James Sweeney of Ramsey and Shawn Sweeney of Upper Saddle River, and three grandchildren. Vozeh, nee Durando, of Ramsey, formerly of Little Ferry, died July 26. She was 94. She had been employed as treasurer and office manager of the R.A. Hamilton Corporation for more than 25 years. She was the founder and first president of the Woman’s Club of Little Ferry, which was federated in March 1966. She was a member of the Evangelical Congregational Church of Little Ferry, where she served as trustee and on the Leadership Committee. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Hackensack Hospital and the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Ramsey, where she was treasurer of the Altar Guild and a member of the Braille Team. She is survived by her daughter Evelyn (Lynn) Huggard, and daughter-in-law Karen Vozeh, five grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Albert Vozeh Jr. and her son Albert Vozeh III. Arrangements were made by Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home in Ramsey.
