Glen Rock August 3, 2011 THE VILLADOM TIMES II • Page 11 The family of the late Bob Evans recently presented the Glen Rock Historical Society with arrowheads that Evans had found in Glen Rock when he was a boy. Evans’ son Glenn and daughter Bronwyn recounted how their father told them he would search a local field after it had been plowed to look for the Native American artifacts.The arrowheads will be on loan and will be displayed at the historical society headquarters. The family had previously made a significant memorial gift of funds in their father’s memory that were used to purchase needed equipment for the work of the society. Evans is remembered both for his outstanding stature and for his historical significance for participation in the borough’s history and citizenship. Bob Evans was the son of Frank Evans, the first borough engineer, who was responsible for drawing many of Glen Rock’s early maps and doing town planning as the area developed and new roads and services were needed.
