over the last 21 years to ever larger venues to accommodate increasing numbers of fans. This spring, Chiller Expo will host 100 guest stars from the worlds of fantasy and mainstream motion pictures, television, classic cinema, and professional sports. There is nothing quite like a Chiller Expo. Organized impeccably with skill that comes from experience, the staff of Chiller and its founding father, Kevin Clement, make sure that fans will have a good time, greet their favorite stars, and enjoy meeting other fans. The spring expo will be held at the Hilton Parsippany in Parsippany, New Jersey from April 29 to May 1. In the past, Chiller Expo has been successful in reuniting casts of popular movies and TV shows. That tradition will continue as the original stars of the 1971 “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” take the stage to sign autographs and pose for pictures with the folks who grew up loving that film. Based on a Roald Dahl novel, the movie is the story of Charlie Bucket, a little boy of meager means who enters a magical world when he wins one of five “golden tickets” to visit the mysterious chocolate factory owned by the eccentric Willy Wonka and run by his capable crew of OompaLoompas. Peter Ostrum (Charlie Bucket), Paris Themmen (Mike Tee Vee), Julie Dawn Cole (Veruca Salt), Denise Nickerson (Violet Beauregard), and Michael Boeliner (Augustus Gloop) will share their stories of the making of the film on the 40th anniversary of its release. Chiller’s spring guest list also includes 94-year-old Ernest Borgnine, whose acting career has spanned six decades. Borgnine won an Oscar in 1955 for his moving portrayal of the title character in “Marty,” a 34-year-old

Bronx butcher whose Italian family is constantly after him to get married. When he meets plain-looking school teacher Clara (Betsy Blair), an awkward romance begins, despite the fact that both are lonely, unglamorous people who have resigned themselves to remaining unloved. Borgnine’s portrayal of Sergeant “Fatso” Judson in “From Here to Eternity” (1953) led to numerous supporting roles as heavies in dramas and Westerns. From 1962 to 1966, he played Quinton McHale in the hit TV sitcom “McHale’s Navy.” Other movie roles include “The Vikings,” “The Catered Affair,” “The Wild Bunch,” “The Poseidon Adventure” and, most recently, “RED.” He has (continued on Crossword page)
