Grace United celebrates Holy Week Grace United Methodist Church in Wyckoff will offer services on Holy Thursday, April 21, at noon and 8 p.m. The evening service will include a reenactment of the Last Supper. A Good Friday service of the Tenebrae will be held April 22 at 8 p.m. in the chapel. On Easter Sunday, April 24, traditional services will be held at 9 and 11 a.m. There will also be a contemporary service celebrated at 9 a.m. Grace Methodist is located at 555 Russell Avenue in Wyckoff. Services at Christ Church announced Christ Church continues to celebrate Holy Week with Holy Eucharist offered on Wednesday, April 20. On Maundy Thursday, April 21, at 6:30 pm, there will be a light supper with Eucharist and a stripping of the altar, followed by a vigil. Attendees are asked to call the church if they are planning to attend the supper. There will be three services offered on Good Friday, April 22: a simple liturgy at 7 a.m. with Eucharist, followed at 4 p.m. with Stations of the Cross for children and families. At 7 p.m., there will be a choral worship liturgy with Eucharist. On April 23 at 7 p.m., Easter Vigil with Holy Baptism will be held at All Saints’ Church, 40 Central Avenue in Glen Rock. Easter Sunday, April 24, will be celebrated with two services at 8 a.m. Holy Eucharist service, and a 10:15 a.m. Festival Holy Eucharist. Passover services set Temple Israel of Ridgewood will hold a service for Passover on April 20 at 9:30 a.m. Chol HaMoed (weekday) services will celebrate the intermediate days of Passover on Sunday, April 24 at 9 a.m. Services for the seventh and last day of Passover will take place on April 25 and at 9 a.m., with Yizkor (Memorial Service) at approximately 10:30 a.m. on April 26. Passover is the Jewish holiday day and festival commemorating the freedom of the ancient Israelites from slavery in Egypt to practice their religion. Emmanuel announces services The Emmanuel Baptist Church, located on the corner of East Ridgewood Avenue and Hope Street, offers special services during Holy Week. On Maundy Thursday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m., communion will be offered around tables in the church’s Peace Lounge. On Good Friday, the sanctuary will be open for prayer from noon to 3 p.m. Hourly prayer guides will be available. Members of the board of deacons will serve as hosts. On Easter Sunday, April 24, an early service will be held at 7:30 a.m. The stained glass window depictions of the life of Jesus will be featured as focal points for meditation. An informal breakfast will follow. At 10:30 a.m., the Easter celebration will take place with choir and handbells.
