Ridgewood residents Anne Armstrong-Coben, M.D. and Doris Hansmann were honored at the event. Dr. Armstrong-Coben was recognized for her leadership and advocacy on behalf of the medical needs of vulnerable children and youth. Hansmann received special recognition from the agency for her many years of service and support. She was one of the founders of Family Counseling Services of Ridgewood and the Vicinity in 1956, which became part of Children’s Aid and Family Services in 1995. She remains a strong supporter of the agency, and is actively involved with many local organizations, including the College Club of Ridgewood, Ridgewood Public Library, and as a volunteer at Kurth Cottage, Valley Hospital’s gift shop. Guests were treated to a performance by Caledon, the world-renowned Scottish tenors, who performed a medley of Elvis Presley hits wearing Elvis-inspired kilts. The winner winner of the “Love” emerald necklace was announced by Arthur Groom and Doug Dittrick, chair of Children’s Aid and Family Services’ Honorary Board. The necklace was created especially for the gala by Arthur Groom & Co. The winner wishes to remain anonymous.
