Thrifty Treasures Sale set

The First Aid/CPR/AED Certification Course for individuals who are age 15 and up, will be offered on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 7 and 8 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Participants must attend both classes. RFD seeks residents’ e-mail addresses The Ridgewood Fire Department is currently collecting e-mail addresses to keep residents up-to-date about upcoming events and fire safety information that will help protect individuals and their families throughout the year. To receive these informational e-mails, contact the Ridgewood Fire Department at RFDassociation@gmail. com. Those who are currently receiving e-mails from the Ridgewood Fire Department do not need to resubmit their information. Note: RFD will never share or sell e-mail addresses to any third party or entity. This information will be used for the sole purpose of sending information about the RFD. Easter Egg Hunt set On Saturday, April 16, Ridgewood’s Old Paramus Reformed Church will host an Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. outdoors on the OPRC campus at 660 East Glen Avenue. The children in the Sunday school program will be joined by children from Little Ivy Pre-School and others from the community. All children (up to age 12) are welcome to join the hunt. Antique appraisals available Ridgewood’s Old Paramus Reformed Church, 660 East Glen Avenue, is offering an Antique Appraisal on Saturday, April 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. Doors to the barrier-free education building will open at 12:30 p.m. with limited seating; first come, first served.
Jon Felz, a certified appraiser with 30 years of experience in estate sales and auctions, will conduct the program. Felz is a member of the New England Appraisers Association, and president of RZM Fine Arts & Antiques in Pearl River, New York. He has appeared on Antiques Road Show. Learn to manage heart failure The Valley Hospital, Department of Community Health, will host a free program entitled “Heart to Heart: A Heart Failure Community Outreach Program” on Tuesday, April 19, at 6:30 p.m. The group will meet at The Dorothy B. Kraft Center, 15 Essex Road in Paramus. This free program is specifically designed for patients and their caregivers to help manage heart failure and improve quality of life. Attendees will have access to nurse practitioners and clinicians who can help answer questions and clarify selfcare management. Heidel exhibit at Stable Gallery Theresa Troise Heidel will exhibit her “Watercolor Journeys Near and Far” at the Stable Art Gallery during the month of April. Primarily painted on location, the watercolors reflect a love of architecture and keen understanding of light and atmosphere. Heidel has been featured in “Jersey Shore Magazine,” “The Jersey Shore Guide Book,” “Jersey Shore Home and Garden,” and in two coffee table books, “To the Shore Once More,” Volumes I and II, and advertisements for the Monmouth County Tourism Board. A graduate of Saint Peter’s College in Jersey City, she completed her postgraduate studies at the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Florence, Italy. Her previous solo exhibit venues have included Saint Peter’s College, Fort Lee Library, Oceanside Gallery in Belmar, When Pigs Fly Gallery in Asbury Park, Tumblety Howell Fine Art in Ocean Grove, and M. The annual Thrifty Treasures Sale at Emmanuel Baptist Church will be held April 30 (rain or shine) from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Featured at the event will be antiques, furniture, fine jewelry, kitchen gadgets, seasonal decorations, housewares, books, one-of-a-kind objects d’art, and more. Red Cross certification classes offered The Ridgewood Department of Parks and Recreation, an authorized American Red Cross provider, will offer three certification courses to village teens. The Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Certification for 11- to 15-year-olds will be offered on April 14, May 21, and June 27. Class will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Patrick M. Mancuso Senior Center at Ridgewood Village Hall, 131 North Maple Avenue in Ridgewood. Registration for this six-hour course is $95. Attendees are encouraged to bring a bag lunch and beverage. The class has a unique interactive, educational format with activities such as identifying safety problems around the house and yard, and selecting age-appropriate toys and games for children. The course provides a meaningful classroom experience including: how to interview for a
