Retreat Fair rescheduled The annual Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat’s Country Fair has been rescheduled to its rain date of Saturday, Oct. 1. The fair will be held from 10 to 4 p.m. on the Wyckoff Municipal Field behind town hall on Franklin Avenue in Wyckoff. The annual event will include rides for children, games, pony rides, food stalls, crafts, toys, pottery, candles, handbags, dolls, and more. DJ Bob Kern will entertain all day. All proceeds benefit the Eastern Christian Children’s Retreat, a non-profit agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities. For more information, call (201) 8488005. Indian Hills Class of 1981 plans reunion IHHS Class of 1981 will celebrate its 30-year reunion on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Double Tree Hilton in Mahwah. Sermon series to begin Christ Community Church of Waldwick will begin the eight-week “Not a Fan” sermon series beginning Sunday, Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. This series is geared toward individuals
who desire to reaffirm their commitment to Christianity in everyday life and to live as Christ called us to live: not just as a fan, but as a completely committed follower. There will be small group meetings with flexible hours during the week. Study guides will be provided. All are invited to attend. Carnivale of Dogs set The Fourth Annual Carnivale of the Dogs, hosted by Companion Animal Advocates, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Saddle River County Park -- Wild Duck Pond at 1113 East Ridgewood Avenue in Ridgewood. This event will be held rain or shine. This festival for dog lovers and their canine companions will include the Fourth Annual Delaney Dog Show, activities, and treats for both pets and owners. Attendees are encouraged to bring a donation of a bag or can of cat or dog food to aid pets who are being cared for by people in need. Admission is free and open to the public. Make a splash for clean water Hackensack Riverkeeper will hold a four-mile point-topoint paddle from River Barge Park in Carlstadt to Laurel
Hill County Park in Secaucus on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 12:30 p.m. The Hackensack River Paddle event is a part of the Waterkeeper Alliance SPLASH Event Series presented nationally by Toyota in cooperation with KEEN shoes to celebrate and support everyone’s right to clean water and waterways. Registration is required. Participants are invited to use their own boats, or rent from Hackensack Riverkeeper. The cost is $10 per paddler for those who supply their own boats, $25 per paddler for participants who rent a kayak, and $20 per paddler for participants who rent a canoe. Blue Moon Café hosts OPRC benefit On Monday, Oct. 3, the Blue Moon Mexican Cafés in Boulder Run Shopping Center, Wyckoff and on Kinderkamack Road in Woodcliff Lake will sponsor a Community Night fundraiser to benefit Ridgewood’s Old Paramus Reformed Church. The restaurants will donate 20 percent of all lunch, dinner, takeout, delivery, or gift card purchases. To participate, diners must present a Blue Moon Community Night flyer from the website BlueMoonMexicanCafe. com. Click on the community tab, then choose Community Nights, and scroll down to Old Paramus Reformed Church. Flyers are also available by calling the church office at (201) 444-5933 weekdays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Ridgewood High Class of 1991 reunion set The Ridgewood High School Class of 1991 will celebrate its 20th reunion on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Ridgewood Woman’s Club, 215 West Ridgewood Avenue in Ridgewood from 7 to 11 p.m. The evening will include beer, wine, and a variety of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres. Tickets to the reunion are $90 per person and must be purchased in advance. Guests are welcome, but due to space and other restrictions, anyone under the age of 21 will not be permitted at this event. To purchase tickets, register online at http://rhs1991.com.
