She was a member of the Wyckoff Reformed Church where she taught Sunday school for 17 years, played in the bell choir, and was a member of the Ladies Aid group. She was a volunteer with the Wyckoff Meals on Wheels for 15 years and worked on the election board for Wyckoff. She is survived by her husband Carl, her children Peter Hofstrom Esq. of Boulder, Colorado, Constance Fenton of Ridgefield, Connecticut, Dr. Glen Hofstrom of Cogan Station, Pennsylvania, and Jane Hug of Wyckoff, 12 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Margaret Eleanor Hogan, nee Dart, of Ridgewood, formerly of Glen Rock, died Oct. 15. She was 90. She graduated from Cathedral High School (Saint Patrick’s) in New York and attended business school. She was active in the community. She is survived by her children John of Suffern, New York, Thomas of Boston, Massachusetts, Margy of Ho-Ho-Kus, and Patsy of Manhattan, and her siblings Henry of Bethel, Connecticut, Richard of Williston Park, New York, and Marie (Wingard) of Spring Lake. Roger Holden of Ridgewood died Oct. 16. He was 90. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He was a self-employed money manager. He is survived by his wife Rosemary (nee Orsi), his children Randal C., Angela, and Alison Holden, two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Arrangements were made by Feeney Funeral Home in Ridgewood. Stuart Robert Lazarus of Upper Saddle River died Oct. 17. He was 74. He graduated from James Madison High School in Brooklyn, New York and attended college in the south on two football scholarships. He is survived by his wife Sharon, his children Dana Lustbader, Adrienne Marlazzi, Stacey Nicole Orlov, and Scott Schaeffer, six grandchildren, and his siblings Bernice Berkower and Edward Lazarus. Alva Hofstrom Dorothy Rose Loftus of Upper Saddle River died Oct. 9. She was 86. Prior to her marriage, she worked for Bendix Corporation, and as a model. During the 1970s, she was four-time Women’s Golf Club Champion at Hackensack Golf Club, where she was a member. She is survived by her children Brian Reed Loftus of Wardsboro, Vermont and Howard J. Loftus III of Upper Saddle River, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her siblings Gloria Nelson of Belleair Beach, Florida, and Walter Zinsmeister of Weyers Cave, Virginia. She was predeceased by her husband Howard “Big H” J. Loftus Jr. Kevin H. McVey of Ho-Ho-Kus died Oct. 19. He was 83. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII. He attended art school and became an illustrator for Ted Bates Advertising Agency in New York. Soon after, he began a career as a newspaper cartoonist, working for The Record for 27 years, retiring in 1989 as an award-winning theatrical caricaturist and special features artist. He also was a court room sketch artist, and a sports and editorial cartoonist at The Record. He is survived by his children Kitt Cela of East Hampstead, New Hampshire and Christopher of Ho-Ho-Kus, two grandchildren, and his sister Joan Kahn of Baltimore, Maryland. Anne Murphy Ritzel of Mahwah died Oct. 14. She was 70. She had been a Realtor with Coldwell Banker, and previously with Murphy Real Estate. She taught at Saint Catharine School in Glen Rock for many years. She was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception R.C. Church in Mahwah, where she was a Eucharistic minister. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Martin of Mahwah, three grandchildren, her brother Joseph J. Murphy, Jr., and her friend Paul Wickenheiser. She attended Eastside High School in Paterson and was a graduate of Syracuse University. She was a member of Barnert Temple in Franklin Lakes. She was dedicated to many charitable organizations and served for several years on the board of the Jewish Family Service of North Jersey. She is survived by her husband Eugene, her children Martin Rosensweet, Fran and Howard Ruff, and Ellen and Miles West, five grandchildren, and her brother Michael Moskow. She was the co-owner of the Ridgewood Corset Shop in Ridgewood since 1977. She is survived by her husband Grant H. of Ho-Ho-Kus, her sons Grant II of Alexandria, Virginia and Eric of Westwood, and four grandchildren.
