Seats will be available on a first-come basis. Usher in the holiday season with ancient instruments, sing-along music, Celtic/Victorian pieces and a spirited musical adventure on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. Sondra and John Bromkas will present “Welcome Yule: A Bells and Motley Olden Christmas.” The event will feature vintage music, dance, and storytelling. On Dec. 11 at 2 p.m., the library will host a one-man version of “A Christmas Carol.” This critically acclaimed play is based on the condensed version Dickens used on his reading tours of the United States. For more information, call (201) 8912224. ‘Holocaust Survivor Cookbook’ author to speak Joanne Caras, author of the “Holocaust Survivor Cookbook,” will address the Jewish Women’s Circle at Chabad, 375 Pulis Avenue in Franklin Lakes, on Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. The evening will also include a Chanukah Holiday Gift Boutique. Caras and her family spent nearly a decade collecting recipes and stories from Holocaust survivors around the globe. Their research netted 129 stories from Europe, South America, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Israel, and the United States. The recipes have been compiled in an unforgettable cookbook. Caras has appeared on CBS, Fox TV, and NPR, and has addressed audiences across the country. Autographed copies of her cookbook will be available for purchase. Comedian Ari Teman to entertain Chabad Jewish Center of NWBC in Franklin Lakes invites the community to an evening of food and comedy with Ari Teman of New York City on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. Teman, an award-winning comedian, headliner, and regular at A-list clubs in New York City and around the country, was recently seen on Vh1, and featured in Time Out NY magazine for the Joke of the Week. Teman is the host of “Further” a beloved stand-up showcase, a regular headliner at the Meshugeneh Comedy Festival, and a frequent performer at universities and events. Teman is also the Jewish Federations of North America’s “Jewish Community Hero of the Year.” He was selected from over 400 nominees after over 570,000 votes, for starting JCorps, the Jewish social volunteering network. Correction The Nov. 23 edition of Villadom TIMES carried an article that referred to a Dec. 14 trial date for the slander/libel trial involving the former superintendent of the Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District and the current school board president. That date is incorrect. That trial has not yet been rescheduled. However, the trial of a lawsuit by the former superintendent against the school district is scheduled for Dec. 14.
