P.I.N.T. Center registration open Registration is now under way for the Franklin Lakes Public Library’s P.I.N.T. Center. This program is for newborns through two-year-olds. P.I.N.T. Center offers a language-enrichment program, in which simple stories, songs, rhymes, and finger plays are presented. Each 45minute session begins with an informal play period followed by a more formal presentation. The program will meet on Mondays from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. or from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Sessions are scheduled for Dec. 5, 12, and 19, Jan 23 and 30, and Feb. 6 and 13. Registration is required. Franklin Lakes residents may register now. Non-residents may register on Dec. 1. Register by calling (201) 891-2224 or by visiting the library during regular hours. Library board to meet The Franklin Lakes Library Board of Trustees will meet on Monday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Local History Room of the Franklin Lakes Public Library, 470 DeKorte Drive. Children invited to Boredom Buster The Franklin Lakes Public Library invites all children in kindergarten through grade two to a Boredom Buster on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 4:15 p.m. Some highlights of the program include a seasonal craft, some jolly stories, and a snack. RBARI hosts Holiday Boutique The Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. will hold its
Annual Holiday Boutique at the Franklin Lakes VFW Hall at the corner of Franklin and Pulis avenues in Franklin Lakes on Friday, Nov. 18 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will feature seasonal home decorations, handmade crafts, and gifts for people and pets. There will be a large selection of homemade baked goods and foods. There is no admission fee. All proceeds directly benefit the animals at RBARI. Elder care program offered Elder Care Options will present “Riding the Caregiver Roller Coaster” at the Franklin Lakes Public Library on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. Caring for aging parents can be a daunting task. Changing care needs and medical emergencies can lead to the feeling of being on a roller coaster. Life becomes a balancing act as the caregiver tries to manage many roles. This onesession workshop will focus on developing strategies for coping with the impact of a loved one’s changing needs. The program is free and open to public. The library is located at 470 DeKorte Drive. Board of education to meet The Franklin Lakes Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at High Mountain Road School located on High Mountain Road. The meeting will begin at 8 p.m. Ramapo Class of 1986 plans reunion The Ramapo High School Class of 1986 will celebrate its 25th high school reunion on Saturday, Nov. 26 at the Indian Trail Club in Franklin Lakes. Register for Reindeer Run The Academy of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Franklin Lakes will hold its Tenth Annual Reindeer Run on Saturday, Dec 3. The 5K race course and one-mile Family Fun Run will start in front of the school at 785 Franklin Lake Road. The course is USAT&F certified. It is also a New
Jersey Grand Prix 500 Point Event. The 5K race will start at 9:30 a.m. and the Family Fun Run will begin at 10:30 a.m. In-person registration will be Dec 2 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and at 8 a.m. on Dec 3. Pre-registration may be completed at www.active.com. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female participants and in each five-year age group. Sisterhood hosts Holiday Boutique Barnert Temple Sisterhood’s annual Holiday Boutique will be held on Sunday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the temple, 747 Route 208 South, Franklin Lakes. This free event is open to the public. Over 40 vendors will present merchandise, including jewelry, pottery, toys, handbags, accessories, Judaica, and more. Café Nosh will be selling bagels, hot dogs, wraps, baked goods, and potato latkes. Visa and MasterCard will be accepted, and there will be plenty of free parking. Brunch and Boutique fundraiser set The Franklin Lakes Branch of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary will hold its Fourth Annual “Pre-Holiday Brunch and Boutique Shopping Fundraiser Extravaganza” on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at the Indian Trail Club, 830 Franklin Lake Road in Franklin Lakes. Boutique shopping will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and brunch will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. More than 30 vendor booths will be selling costume and handmade jewelry and accessories, unique children’s items, scarves, shawls, belts, handbags, holiday ornaments, beauty items, decorative home goods, baby items, and much more. Tickets are $30. Proceeds will support the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit at The Valley Hospital and Valley Home Care’s Maternal Child Health Program.
