NHRHS Class of 1972 plans reunion Northern Highlands Regional High School Class of 72 will celebrate its 40th reunion on July 14, 2012 at the Ramsey Country Club. Thrift shop holds Holiday Boutique The Community Thrift Shop, located on the lower level of the Midland Park Shopping Center at 85 Godwin Avenue in Midland Park, will begin its Holiday Boutique on Tuesday, Nov.15. After Dec. 1, the shop will accept only Christmas and holiday items, jewelry, and clothing. Fifty-two member organizations, including churches and other non-profits, benefit from sales at the shop. Regular store hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Receiving hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays. The first Saturday of each month, the shop is open both for receiving and shopping.

Sign up for FLOW Follies Signups for the upcoming annual FLOW Follies scholarship fundraiser will be held at Indian Hills High School auditorium, 97 Yawpo Avenue in Oakland, on Wednesday, Nov. 16 and Thursday, Nov. 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. Performers at all levels of experience are welcome. The show’s producers also need backstage help for set work, design, and art production. FLOW Follies is a musical extravaganza that is performed annually to raise scholarship funds for graduating seniors at Indian Hill and Ramapo high schools. Performances will be held March 8 through 11, 2012. Club event to feature ‘Cherish the Ladies’ Irish Music Troupe “Cherish the Ladies” will entertain at the College Club’s Annual Dinner and Concert on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The event will be held at the Woman’s Club of Ridgewood, 215 West Ridgewood Avenue. The evening will include cocktails at 6:30 p.m., dinner catered by The Market Basket, the special entertainment, and a traditional sing-along. Tickets are $48. Fyke plans Christmas Bird Count Fyke Nature Association will host its 60th Christmas Bird Count on Dec. 17. The event will cover a 15-mile diameter circle centered on Lake Erskine. At least eight teams will be in the field from dawn to dusk. The count is part of the nation-wide 112th Christmas Bird Count organized by the National Audubon Society. Club opens model train display The Bergen County Model Railroad Club’s annual operating train display will be open for viewing at the Midland Park United Methodist Church, 269 Godwin Avenue in Midland Park, on Nov. 19, 25 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Nov. 20 and 27 from 1 to 5 p.m. The donation is $5 for adults and $2 for children age three and up. Children under age two will be admitted free. Food will be available. Family fun awareness event set Powerhouse Church in Wyckoff is offering a family fun and awareness event, “What about Juarez? Kids of the Colonia,” on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 5 to 10 p.m. at the church, 500 West Main Street in Wyckoff.
