Page 16 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • November 16, 2011 Veterans honored at luncheon Over 250 veterans were honored at A Salute to our Veterans, a luncheon held in honor of the brave men and women who have served our country through the military. The event included a complimentary luncheon and a program highlighting the courage and sacrifice of the members of all branches of the armed forces. The day also featured a military vehicle exhibit by the Tri-State Military Vehicle Club, the National Guard Color Guard, and music by the Ramapo High School Brass Quintet, Sheryl Spirer-Wyka, William Brock, and the Police Pipes and Drums of Bergen County, and the Wyckoff YMCA’s Singing Group. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Y’s pre-K class. Guest speakers reflected on their own military experiences in the various wars and conflicts since WWII. The Wyckoff Y, which hosted the event, plans to make the salute an annual tradition. Left: Members of the National Guard Color Guard. Right: Veterans David Miller, Joe Marotta, and Paul Breslow.
