Hearts & Crafts Grief Counseling is a Ramsey-based non-profit that provides counseling to children and adults who have lost a loved one or are living with serious illness. Hearts & Crafts Grief Counseling was founded in 1994 by Laura Hudson, a board certified art therapist, and co-directed by Terry DeBrule, a licensed clinical social worker, to serve families living with serious illness and loss. The organization is dedicated to providing a safe, caring environment as families work through the healing process. The Saddle River and Midland Park based company sent a crew to the homes of two widowed mothers and their children, to perform a full day of weeding, mulching, pruning, and other sea- During the month of November, Mayer’s Karate and Fitness will host a Kick-a-Thon to help generate funds for Reed Academy and to elevate community awareness about autism. Reed Academy recently announced the grand opening of its new state-of-the-art Kick-a-Thon raises funds along with autism awareness facility in Oakland. Funded solely by private donations, the new facility includes space to incorporate all aspects of educating individuals with autism. One in every 110 children is diagnosed with autism each year.
