The service will honor the deceased members from the department. Light refreshments will be served. Remembrance service scheduled The Midland Park Christian Reformed Church will hold its 21st Annual Memorial Day Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving on Sunday, May 29 at 5 p.m. The service will include a slide presentation consisting of historical and current pictures of service men and women in uniform. Community members are invited to submit photos of themselves or family members who have been (or currently are) members of the armed forces. Friends of the Library fundraiser set On Monday, May 23, the Blue Moon Mexican Café in Boulder Run Shopping Center in Wyckoff will sponsor a Community Night fundraiser to benefit the Friends of the Midland Park Library. The restaurant will donate 20 percent of all lunch, dinner, take out, delivery, or gift card purchases. Casino trip offered to seniors The Northwest Bergen Regional Senior Center in Midland Park will host a trip to the Showboat Casino on Wednesday, May 18. The trip, offered to adults age 60 and over, costs $25 per person and includes the bus, the driver’s tip, and $30 in slot play. The bus will depart from and return to the Graydon Pool parking lot on Northern Parkway in Ridgewood. Boarding will begin at 7:45 a.m. and the bus will depart at 8 a.m. The group is expected to return at approximately 7 p.m. Payment and registration may be completed at the senior center. The Northwest Bergen Regional Senior Center, located at 46-50 Center Street in Midland Park, is open to all area senior citizens who are at least 60 years of age. Tennis instruction offered Midland Park Recreation is offering a Saturday tennis instruction for children on May 21, and June 11 and 18. Children will receive instruction in groups by grade level. The cost is $40 per child, with a $70 maximum per family. The show will highlight the new spring/summer lines currently on display at the store. The event will be held May 23 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Bottagra Restaurant, located at 80 Wagaraw Road in Hawthorne. This event will help support the many anti-poverty programs at Eva’s Village, whose mission is to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, treat the addicted, and provide medical care to the poor with respect for the human dignity of each individual. Meetings are open to the public. Honorees sought The Midland Park Knights of Columbus Community Night Committee is seeking nominations of Midland Park citizens for its community recognition program. The Knights will recognize one outstanding adult from Midland Park, one from the Church of the Nativity, and an outstanding Midland Park youth. One person will receive the Outstanding Neighbor Award.
