Page 18 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • May 11, 2011 Obituaries Hermina Catherina Aussems, nee Baars, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Hawthorne and Midland Park, died April 30. She was 91. She was a member of a Dutch resistance group know as CS-6 in Amsterdam during the Nazi occupation. Her involvement landed her in concentration camp Vught in the Netherlands. She was awarded the Resistance Remembrance Cross for her activities during the war by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands in 1983. She emigrated with her family to the U.S in 1957. She gave talks about her experience in the concentration camp for 18 years at local schools, the University of Arizona, the University of Colorado, and KUAT TV. She was interviewed by the Spielberg Holocaust Project, and her story is available in the National Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. She is survived by her sons Nicolaas of Tucson and John of Hackettstown, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her brother Jan Baars of Hawthorne. She was predeceased by her husband Gerard, her twin daughters Monique and Hermina, and her granddaughter Michele Aussems. Arrangements were made by Adair Funeral Home in Arizona. Before retiring in 1972, he was a truck driver for Garden State Farms in Wyckoff. He is survived by his children Susan Bolton of Wayne, William R. Bolton III of Ramsey, Michael Bolton of Hawthorne, and Eileen D’Ercole of New York, three grandchildren, and his siblings Edward Bolton of Wayne and Betty Simon of Pompton Plains. She is survived by her children Bernadette Tiernan of Washington Township, Vicki Quigley of Syracuse, New York, Kathleen Appleton of Allendale, and Regina Burke of McLean, Virginia, 10 grandchildren, and her brother James Fitzpatrick. Reilly Jr. of Ho-Ho-Kus and Barnegat Light, died April 27. He was 85. He received his DDS from the University of Pennsylvania. He served in the public health service of the U.S. Navy, and established a dental practice in Ridgewood, where he worked for almost 40 years. In Ridgewood, he served on the Valley Hospital staff and sang with the Orpheus Club. He also served on the Ho-Ho-Kus Board of Health. He was a member of the Lions Club, the Ridgewood Tennis Club, the Hobbyists, and the Ski Club of New Jersey. He is survived by his daughters Linda Reilly of Eugene, Oregon, Wendy Jenkins of Essex Junction, Vermont, and Lee Reilly of Chicago, Illinois, four grandchildren, and his siblings Bill Reilly of Lyme, Connecticut and Rosalie Hope of Ormond Beach, Florida.
