Page 10 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • May 11, 2011 Area Coalition sets plans for May History Day Tour Members of the NW Bergen Coalition of Historic Organizations recently met to finalize plans for the History Day Tour on May 21. On that day, eight historical sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.: The Schoolhouse Museum in Ridgewood, The Hermitage in Ho-Ho-Kus, The John Fell House in Allendale, The Hopper-Goetschius House in Upper Saddle River, the Old Stone House in Ramsey, the Mahwah Museum, the Van Allen House in Oakland, and the Zabriskie House in Wyckoff. This will be a rare opportunity to explore the rich 18th and 19th century history of this area. Tickets to tour all eight sites are $10 per person; children age 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. Tickets are available at the Schoolhouse Museum, The Hermitage, Ho-Ho-Kus Inn and Tavern, Abma’s Farm, and through the participating historical societies. The key chains feature the American flag and the message “Safe and Sober Graduation 2011” on the opposite side. “A Project Graduation alcohol and drugfree event gives everyone -- graduates, parents, and the community -- an added reason to celebrate the important occasion,” Rajczyk said. AAA North Jersey will be providing the American flag key chains to high schools in Bergen, Hudson, and Passaic counties.
