Zumbathon to benefit Love Fund Ethos Fitness Spa in Midland Park is sponsoring a Zumbathon to benefit the Midland Park Children’s Love Fund. Join Amy, Cassie, Megan and Mima for the three-hour event on Saturday, March 26 from 1-4 p.m. Come out for an afternoon full of fun, dancing, free refreshments, and chances to win a variety of great prizes in support of this cause. Please register at the Ethos Reception Desk. Suggested donation is $20 per 45-min class. Donations are required to reserve a spot! One hundred percent of the proceeds will go directly to the Love Fund, which provides financial assistance for local families in need. When an economic, medical, emotional or physical crisis strikes, the Love Fund provides financial assistance to children whose families are in need. Tax appeal deadline The Borough of Midland Park will have a Revaluation for the 2012 Tax Year. The Tax Appeal filing deadline for the Tax Year of 2011 is April 1, 2011. Fish & Chips Dinner set Trinity Episcopal Church will host a Fish & Chips Dinner on Thursday, April 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Guardian Angel Church, located at the corner of Franklin Turnpike and East Allendale Avenue. Catered by Tastefully British, the dinner will include fish, chips, coleslaw, beverage, and dessert. Take out is available. Tickets are $13 and will be available through April 3. Fashion Show/luncheon tickets on sale The Midland Park Branch of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary will hold its 42nd Annual Luncheon/Fashion Show/ Special Auction on Tuesday, April 12. The popular event will take place at the Grand Conservatory of the Brownstone House in Paterson beginning at 11:30 a.m. Fashions by Kurth Cottage Gift Shop will be modeled by auxiliary members. The event is always a sell-out, so early reservations are recommended. Tickets are $35, $7 of which is tax deductible. Forms are available at http://www.mpnj. com/mp_rec.asp, at the DePhillips Community Center, and at borough hall. The camp program, open to children entering grades one through eight, is filled with activities and theme weeks. Camp will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 27 through Aug. 5. A once-a-week extended day option until 3 p.m. is available. The cost per week is $65 for the first child, $50 for the second child, and $40 for the third child. There is a $155 a week maximum per family. Space is limited; early registration is advised. Registrations will be taken in the order in which they are received. Registrations should be mailed to Midland Park Recreation, DePhillips Community Center, 50 Dairy Street, Midland Park, NJ 07432 or brought to the recreation center weekdays from 9 to 4 beginning March 28. Registrations should not be postmarked earlier than March 26. Umpires sought Midland Park Baseball Association is seeking umpires for the spring/summer recreation league. Umpires must be in eighth grade or older and are required to attend the umpire clinic to be held at the DePhillips Community Center. cake Breakfast on Sunday, April 10 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Midland Park Fire House Hall, 45 Witte Drive. The breakfast will include pancakes, bacon, sausages, juice, coffee, tea, and bagels. Shop announces special sale The Community Thrift Shop, located on the lower level of the Midland Park Shopping Center, will hold a half-off sale on all winter merchandise on March 22, 23, and 24. Bag day sales are scheduled for March 25 and 26. Fifty-two organizations benefit from the shop’s sales. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Mondays are for receiving only from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The first Saturday of each month is for both receiving and shopping. The shop is now accepting spring and summer items. Rabies suspect specimens will be prepared at no additional cost and transported to a laboratory in East Orange when necessary and, if required, to Trenton by a private courier service. In the case of a bite to a human, it will be the responsibility of the individual who was bitten to assume the cost of that transport. In other situations, the borough will be responsible for the charges of transportation to Trenton, which is currently $180. Tyco will assist the borough clerk with licensing followup, and will issue summonses and appear in court on behalf of the borough at no extra cost to the borough. But, in the event the New Jersey Department of Health requests the collection of birds for disease testing during the contract period, the borough will be charged $60 per month for the collection of birds during non-emergency hours. According to the contract, either party may terminate this contract for any reason upon 90 days written notice to the non-terminating or other party. F.J. McMAHON
