Page 18 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • March 16, 2011 �������������������������� The Wyckoff Township Committee recently voted to accept a $150,000 New Jersey Department of Transportation Trust Fund Grant to improve Main Street between Franklin Avenue and Wyckoff Avenue. Resurfacing work will begin this summer. The DOT grant program is limited to heavily-traveled municipal roads that connect two county roads, two communities, or are otherwise of more than ordinary importance to state transportation. Wyckoff officials noted that the township had suffered the largest single decrease in state aid of any of the 70 communities in Bergen County -- 25.5 percent or $373,363. However, Wyckoff has an excellent record of obtaining DOT grants for road improvement and repaving projects. In recent years, state grants have covered road work on Mountain Avenue, West Main Street and Grandview Avenue, Lawlins Road, Crescent Avenue, Monroe Avenue, and Park Avenue. J. Old pictures of the Wyckoff Library such as the one above are being sought for a history that will be posted on the library’s new website, www.wyckofflibrary.org. The library was founded in 1921 by the Women’s Work Committee, which was led by Margaret Rambaut. A picture of Mrs. Rambaut would be especially welcome.
