Page 12 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • March 16, 2011 Dear Readers: What an honor it is to be serving as the president of the Wyckoff Chamber of Commerce! We are a non-profit organization striving to benefit both the residents and the business community here in town. Anyone in the local business community who is reading this and wants to know more about the Wyckoff Chamber of Commerce is invited to our next monthly breakfast meeting. See what we are all about and learn about the several new projects and initiatives that are currently underway. Call (201) 891-3616 for meeting details. I would also like to offer a warm welcome our newest member of the Wyckoff Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Darren Magarro of the DSM Group, and to Barbara Petruccelli, our new business administrator. The Chamber currently has over 100 members whose efforts and dues allow us to offer several programs including college scholarships, Santa Comes to Wyckoff, the Memorial Day Parade, Halloween trick or treating, various Sale Days, and more. We have been working in conjunction with the town and, as a result, you will now be able to enjoy outdoor dining at several of your favorite restaurants this spring. There will also be a more fairly administered interpretation of the “blue laws,” which will allow new businesses to come to town and allow some already in town to stay open on Sundays if they choose to do so. Through the Chamber and Viridian Energy, there are significant savings to be realized on your energy bill. We are working on several other important issues that could save Chamber members additional money. More information about energy savings can be found on our website, Wyckoffchamber.com. On Saturday, June 11, The Wyckoff YMCA and the Chamber will host the Second Annual Wyckoff Day, utilizing the Y’s entire campus to provide entertainment, rides, vendors, music, food, and fun for the entire family. During Wyckoff Day, the Chamber will be selling water to benefit the scholarship fund. The group is looking for energetic volunteers to assist that day. Anyone who is interested is invited to call Bob Meneve at (201) 891-1800, extension 301. Sponsors, vendors, and civic groups may call the Y at (201) 891-2081 to join in the Wyckoff Day festivities. Wyckoff is truly fortunate to have the Wyckoff Y in town. The Y offers great programs to the general public, including concerts and Palate to Palate. With the cold of winter wrapping up and the coming of spring, people will be out in much greater numbers shopping, spending time with their neighbors, and experiencing the amazing town that Wyckoff is. Reconnect with your neighbors, help someone in need, and take the time to appreciate our great town. Looking forward to seeing you!
