FLOW Follies coming up The 25 Anniversary production of FLOW Follies, “There’s No Business Like FLOW Business,” at the Ramapo High School Auditorium, 331 George Street in Franklin Lakes, on March 10, 11, and 12 at 7:30 p.m. and on March 13 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. This variety show will feature performances by parents, teachers, administrators, and a special salute to the 24 previous shows. Dutch gardening to be discussed at joint meeting Firth Fabend will present “Gardens of New Netherland: Dutch Gardening in the New World” at a joint meeting of the Ho-Ho-Kus and Saddle River garden clubs on Tuesday, March 15. The program will be held at 7 p.m. at the Bishop House, 176 East Saddle River Road, in Saddle River. Fabend is a former president of the Montclair Garden Club. RBARI hosts ‘Latin Night,’ sale The Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc. will host a “Latin Night” Dinner/Dance on March 11 at the American Legion Post 147, Legion Place, in Elmwood Park from 7 p.m. to midnight. This event will feature music by “DJ Animal,” Spanish cuisine, soda, beer-on-tap, and a cash bar. Tickets are $30 and may be purchased by calling Dee at (201) 773-6740. Tickets will not be sold at the door. RBARI will hold a gift and craft sale at the Copper Tree
Mall, 350 Ramapo Valley Road (Route 202) in Oakland on March 11 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and March 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A wide range of gifts will be available. All proceeds directly benefit the animals at RBARI. Ridgewood Choral announces events The Ridgewood Choral, an all-woman chorus now celebrating 83 years of song and service, invites the public to a Games/Card Luncheon fundraiser on March 17 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Allendale Borough Hall, 500 West Crescent Avenue in Allendale. Cards and games will be provided, but attendees may bring their own group, cards, and games. Admission is $15, which includes lunch. An exhibit of the group’s 83-year history will be on display at the Ridgewood Public Library, 125 North Maple Avenue, Ridgewood during the month of March. Orchestra to present concert The Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra will present a family concert featuring Russian selections on Friday, March 25 at 8 p.m. at Benjamin Franklin Middle School in Ridgewood. The concert, which is approximately 70 minutes, includes music by Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Liadov, and Rimsky-Korsakov. The orchestra will also accompany violinist Anna Elashvili and cellist Saeunn Thorsteinsdottir in Saint-Saens’ tone poem “La Muse et Le Poete.” Elashvili and Thorsteinsdottir are both recent graduates of the Juilliard School, and are internationally known recitalists and chamber musicians. Advance tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $10 for students. Tickets purchased at the door will be $23, $18, and $13, respectively. Girl Scouts celebrate anniversary Every March, churches and synagogues across America celebrate the anniversary of the 1912 founding of the Girl Scouts by Juliette Gordon Low. On Friday, March 11, Temple Emanuel of North Jersey and Oakland Girl Scout Troop 4643 invite all Girl Scouts, Brownies, and Daisies of all denominations from troops in Oakland, Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes and surrounding communities to a “Girl Scout Shabbat (Sabbath)” at the synagogue at 6:30.
