Page 20 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • June 15, 2011 �������������������������� by John Koster The Wyckoff Township Committee had adopted a revised sign ordinance with new standards, in particular, for the use of real estate signs. The ordinance, adopted at the special June 6 meeting, provides that real estate for sale signs be taken down two days after the closing of sale or execution of a lease on the Wyckoff Sale Days June 16-17-18 Township committee adopts revised sign ordinance premises in question. The signs must be set back 10 feet from the edge of the road pavement or five feet from the edge of the sidewalk. The signs must not exceed four square feet and may not be eliminated. The fee for the installation of the sign is $30. The ordinance also limits the use of a for sale sign or for rent sign to 90 days. If the house has not been sold or rented within 90 days, the applicant may apply for an unlimited number of extensions, but each extension may only last 90 days. Open House signs may be exhibited in addition to the for sale signs, but these may be put up no more than one hour before the beginning of the showing of the house, and must be taken down at the end of the day. The Wyckoff Board of Education has honored eight staff members upon their retirement from the district and offered them recognition for exemplary services. Jean Augustani has been honored for 41 years as an elementary teacher in the Wyckoff school system. Barbara Blondin was honored for 24 years as a resource room teacher. Constance Hagy was honored for 32 years as an elementary and social studies teacher. Susan Liotard was honored for 23 years as a library media specialist. Joan Ralph was honored for 23 years as an elementary school teacher. Jeanne Selikowitz was honored for 25 years as a speech language specialist. Judy Witte was honored for 24 years as a library media specialist. Arleen Worrell was honored for 10 years as a special education aide. The Wyckoff Board of Education also expressed its thanks to Thomas Giamanco, who served as a member of the Wyckoff Board of Education from 2005 to 2011. He served as a member of the Communications, Facilities, Policy, Finance, and negotiations committees and was chairman of the communications chairman for three years and the policy and facilities chairman for one year each.
