will participate in this tournament. This is the seventh consecutive year that the Wyckoff Youth Lacrosse Program has had at least one player named to one of the Festival Teams. “Owen understands the importance of teamwork and is looked upon as a leader on and off the field,” said Wyckoff sixth grade Lacrosse Coach Bob Robbins said. “He is extremely dedicated, has devoted many hours to improving his skills and approaches each task with a positive attitude. I am truly proud of Owen for making the U-13 team. This is a great accomplishment and an achievement that is well deserved.” Jim Hogan, coach of the Wyckoff eighth grade lacrosse team, said, “Matt is excellent at attacking the cage and creating opportunities for his teammates. His vision, speed, agility and lacrosse IQ make him a real threat from anywhere on the field.” “It is gratifying to see that all of the hard work put in by these boys and their coaches has paid off in a way that will make their families and the Wyckoff Recreation Department extremely proud,” Wyckoff Recreation Director Andy Wingfield said. The Wyckoff Youth Boys Lacrosse Program is in its ninth year with 275 boys in grades three through eight. This spring, Wyckoff launched a lacrosse program for girls, which has 130 players. The recreation department expects this program to grow and reach the same level of success as the boys’ program has. The Wyckoff Youth Lacrosse Program congratulates Owen Ray who was chosen to play on the 2011 North New Jersey U-13 Festival team. The program also congratulates Matt DelDuca, who was named an alternate to the U-15 team. Ray is one of 23 boys who will represent New Jersey at the U-13 level competition at the US Lacrosse National Youth Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina, June 17 through 20. While the U-13 team is comprised mainly
of age eligible seventh graders, Ray, who is in sixth grade, beat out a very talented field to make the team. Both boys attended two tryouts with over 100 top youth lacrosse players at each level from across the state vying for a roster spot. The New Jersey Festival Teams (U13 and U-15) are sponsored by the North Jersey Junior Lacrosse League, of which the Wyckoff Youth Lacrosse program is a member. Teams from across the country
