Rabbi Shmuley Boteach to discuss ‘Six Rotten Values’ America’s rabbi, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, will discuss “The Six Rotten Values with Which Kids are Being Raised and How To Correct Them” at Temple Emanuel of North Jersey, 558 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes on Feb. 15 at 8 p.m. Rabbi Shmuley will draw on his extensive experience to discuss a topic close to every parent’s heart: parenting with values. Bierkos present musical event Parents Choice Award winners Beth and Scott Bierko will offer an interactive, musical presentation for the entire family on Sunday, March 20 at 2 p.m. at the Franklin Lakes Public Library. During this show of original songs and stories, the audience will have the opportunity to join in the fun by singing, clapping, and using their imaginations to become everything from wolves to washing machines. Many children are invited up throughout the performance to laugh, dance, and play instruments. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Franklin Lakes Library. Admission is free, but registration is required. Signup for the performance will begin Feb. 24. Learn about college admissions testing Joshua Marber, MS.Ed. will advise teens and their families about the pros and cons of the SAT and ACT standardized tests, which test to take, how many times to take the tests, and more on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Franklin Lakes Public Library.
Marber, who has over 10 years of experience in the education, counseling, and college fields, will provide helpful information to get students started on the right road now and after high school graduation. Wagoners perform Duo Piano Concert Russell Wagoner and Christopher Wagoner offer a Duo Piano Concert on Saturday, March 12 at the Franklin Lakes United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. The concert will feature piano duets (four hands at one piano), piano duos (four hands at two pianos) and piano/organ duets. The program will include everything from classical selections and hymns to Latin rhythms and novelty piano favorites. The concert is being presented in memory of June and Chuck Ford and their life-long support of the church’s exceptional music program. The Fords’ son, Bruce, has generously continued this tradition. The Wagoners will perform in gratitude of the Fords’ generosity and the dedication of the new Schimmel grand piano. As part of the church’s free concert series, admission, refreshments, and child care will all be complimentary. The church is located at 454 Pulis Avenue in Franklin Lakes.
