A diamond ring acquired by a Midland Park businessman as part of Devon Fine Jewelers’ recent Finders Keepers giveaway will now become the prize in a fundraiser to benefit the Midland Park Love Fund and Emanuel Cancer Foundation. Eugene Myer, owner of La Strada Gourmet, found the 14K white gold ring with black, brown and white diamonds at the Goffle Road Poultry Farm in Wyckoff. He came across the gift bag containing the unusual ring valued at $1,500 quite by accident while he was picking up fresh supplies for his deli.
The ring that gives twice
The fine jewelry piece is now on display at his deli, where he is selling chances at $5 each, with the entire proceeds going to the two local charities. To commemorate its 32nd anniversary, Devon Fine Jewelry left 32 bags worth a total of $42,000, each with a piece of fine jewelry, in different locations throughout Wyckoff and the surrounding towns so that they could be stumbled upon by lucky finders. Visit la Strada at 231 Godwin Avenue if you also want to give back to the community this holiday season.
