The event will begin with Worship led by Pastor Louis Kilgore at 10 a.m. A barbecue and picnic will follow. Hot dogs, veggie burgers, hamburgers, and beverages will be provided. Participants are asked to bring salad or dessert. Activities will include face painting and pumpkin painting directed by church member and artist Mary Guidetti McColl and caricatures by local artist Dave McCoy. Terrone to exhibit Joe Terrone will exhibit his plein air paintings in The Gallery of the Presbyterian Church at Franklin Lakes, 730 Franklin Lake Road, during the month of September. Beginning computer classes available The Franklin Lakes Public Library, 470 DeKorte Drive, will offer two computer courses this fall. A beginner’s computer class will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays, Sept. 7, 9, 14, and 16 from 11 a.m. to noon. Participants will learn the basics of how to use a personal computer. The four-part class will include instruction on using the mouse and keyboard, navigating the Web, search pages, word documents, and e-mail. Participants are asked to commit to all four classes. “Learn about eBay” will be offered on Sept. 23 at 10:30 a.m. Learn how to use this online auction site, create an account, what to look for when bidding, and how to list an item for sale. Smirney exhibits artwork at library The work of Washington Township resident Zina Smirny will be on exhibit at the Franklin Lakes Library, 470 DeKorte Drive, during the month of September. This Russian born artist spent over 30 years in computer programming. She explored various media, photography, and pottery before turning to painting.
