Reading program finale David Smith, as seen on “America’s Got Talent,” will perform juggling tricks and amazing feats on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Franklin Lakes Public Library. Families with children of all ages are welcome to this end of the summer reading program celebration. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Registration is required, and may be completed by calling (201) 891-2224 or by visiting the library during regular hours. The library is located at 470 DeKorte Drive. Experience ‘Music under the Stars’ Franklin Lakes will host its first “Music under the Stars” featuring The Jersey Rollers on Wednesday, Aug. 3. This event will be held from 8 to 10 p.m. at the municipal field behind borough hall (480 DeKorte Drive). The event commemorates the Tenth Anniversary of 9/11 and benefits The Franklin Lakes Memorial Pond project. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chairs and blankets, snacks, and drinks. No tickets are required, but a donation to the Franklin Lakes Memorial Pond would be welcome. All are invited. The Franklin Lakes Memorial Pond was built by volunteers and donations. Seniors plan events The Franklin Lakes Seniors will travel to the Westchester Broadway Theater on Thursday, Aug. 25 to see the musical comedy, “Altar Boyz.” Tickets are $57 for members and $62 for non-members. The bus will depart at 9:45 a.m. from the Franklin Lakes Recreation Field. On Oct. 26, the seniors will travel to the August Wilson Theater in New York City to see “Jersey Boys.” Tickets are $70 for members and $75 for non-members. A box lunch is included in the price of the ticket. Seminar on concussions offered Drs. Catherine Mazzola and Lori Catania of New Jersey Pediatric Neurosurgical Associates will offer a seminar for athletes, coaches, and parents on concussions Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Franklin Lakes Public Library. The doctors will discuss assessment and protocol for concussion and answer questions from the audience. Freegal will allow the Franklin Lakes Library to increase the size and diversity of its collection by offering access to hundreds of thousands of songs. Under the terms of the agreement, registered cardholders of the Franklin Lakes Public Library may download a select number of Sony Music tracks in the MP3 format each month at no direct cost via www.franklinlakeslibrary.org. The library will underwrite the purchase of the music.

The library is located at 470 DeKorte Drive. Allan to exhibit Artist Linda Allan of West Nyack, New York, will exhibit her artwork at the Franklin Lakes Public Library during the month of July. Allan works in oil, colored pencil, and acrylics. She has exhibited in the Arts Alliance of Rockland, various libraries in New York, and the Rockland Center for the Arts. Knitting group meets at the library The Purl Girls knitting group is open to everyone with a passion for knitting and those who would like to learn how to knit.
