Page 4 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • April 27, 2011 Area Local architects to exhibit artworks at May 1 show The artwork of area members of the Architects League of Northern New Jersey will be showcased at an exhibit scheduled to open Sunday, May 1 at the Art Center of Northern New Jersey in New Milford. The exhibit will display the many facets of the architects’ creative talent in a format that best exemplifies their work and personalities, from hand sketches, renderings, and finished photography of award-winning buildings to stained glass and sculpture. Members of local communities including Ridgewood, Franklin Lakes, Saddle River, and Chief Judge Sandra L. Lynch of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit has announced that attorney Edward A. Godoy has been selected to fill the vacancy in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Puerto Rico, assuming successful completion of a background investigation, including FBI clearance. He will sit in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Godoy graduated with honors from Midland Park High School. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and has taken several postgraduate legal courses. He earned his J.D. degree from Columbia Law School in 1981. Godoy selected for U.S. Bankruptcy Court Godoy is a trial attorney at the Department of Justice, Office of the United States Trustee, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where he has practiced for the past 10 years. Before joining the Department of Justice, he practiced for 15 years at the firm of Feldstein, Gelpi & Gotay, specializing in federal litigation, professional liability, real estate, insurance, and product liability law. He has extensive experience handling bankruptcy fraud abuse, product liability, commercial, and civil rights cases. Chief Judge Lynch stated, “The court is very pleased that a candidate with Mr. Godoy’s experience, expertise, and temperament will serve as the next bankruptcy judge (continued on page 6) Allendale will display their work. The ALNNJ is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to further the science and art of planning and building by advancing the standards of architectural education, training, and practice; to coordinate the building industry and the profession of architecture to ensure the advancement of the living standards of people through their improved environment; and to make the profession of ever-increasing service to society. The ALNNJ section is a component of the American Institute of Architects, which runs its own local monthly events and programs for its members. The membership is composed of professional and affiliate members from communities throughout Bergen County. The public is invited to the Gallery Opening on May 1 from 2 to 5 p.m. The exhibit will remain open from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through May 14. The gallery is located at 250 Center Street, New Milford.
