He attended school in Waldwick and attended Ramsey High School. He worked at the Curtis Wright Company in Wood-Ridge, and later at Castillo Liquors in Waldwick. Before retiring, he managed the Crystal Lake Inn in Franklin Lakes. He is survived by his siblings Rose Garant of Saint Augustine, Florida, Dolores Barker and Evelyn Ganguzza, both of Wyckoff, and Louise Block of Mahwah, his close friend Pat Eichmann of Mahwah, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Julio and Mary Castillo, his brother Edward De Rocco, and his former wife Henrietta Knorr Castillo. She is survived by her children Maria Kalafatis, Penny Raggi, and Sandy Cocuzza, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Spiros. She is survived by her children Paul of Ramsey, Jodie Miller of Montvale, and Patti Abma of Brick, and five grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Theresa Scafuro.
