Residents are asked to fill a one-gallon zip-style plastic bag with one of each of the following items: hand towel, washcloth, comb, metal nail file or clipper with file, wrapped bath-size soap bar, packaged toothbrush, and six Band-aids. New or barely-used practical shoes are also needed. Bring kits and shoes to the salon at 222 Godwin Avenue in Midland Park by April 21. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Graduation Ball fundraiser at Blue Moon On Wednesday, May 11 the Blue Moon Mexican Café in Boulder Run Shopping Center in Wyckoff will sponsor a Community Night fundraiser to benefit the Midland Park High School Graduation Ball. The restaurant will donate 20 percent of all lunch, dinner, take out, delivery, or gift card purchases. Christopher Johnson, who portrays Abraham Lincoln, gives special insights into the country’s great emancipator. While Lincoln the president struggles with the wrenching experiences of a country divided, Lincoln the family man deals with an irrational wife and the deaths of dearly loved sons. The program is funded by the Horizons Speakers Bureau of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
