Scouting for Food underway Cub Scout Pack 157 and Boy Scout Troop 157 will participate in “Scouting for Food,” the annual Iaoapogh Mountains District Food Drive. Midland Park residents are asked to look for the bags distributed this past week and fill those bags with canned or dried packaged foods, toiletries, paper supplies, baby food, etc. Residents are asked to place the filled bags on their steps (or another highly visible location) by 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 16. Egg Hunt planned Midland Park will hold an Easter Egg Hunt on the Junior Field and Playground on Saturday, April 16. (Rain date: April 23.) Children who are two and three years of
age will hunt at 1 p.m.; four- and five-year-olds will begin at 1:30 p.m.; and children ages six and seven will hunt at 2 p.m. Egg hunters are reminded to bring a basket to collect their eggs. The Easter Bunny will be on hand. Chamber offers scholarships The Midland Park Chamber of Commerce will award three $600 cash scholarships to graduating seniors who live in Midland Park. Students must be continuing their education at a two- or four-year college. Applications, due by April 26, are available at Midland Park High School or by calling Dr. Dawn DiMuro at (201) 445-6200. Boys to play at Yogi Berra Stadium On April 16, the Midland Park High School Boys Varsity Baseball Team will play Hawthorne Christian Academy at Yogi Berra Stadium, located on the campus of Montclair State University in Little Falls. The game will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission to the stadium and parking are free. Family pre-game tailgating and Panther Pride face painting will be available. Club will be selling snacks and drinks before and during the game. Vacation Bible School registration open From July 11 through 15, Faith Reformed Church will offer its Son Surf Beach Bash Vacation Bible School to children in pre-K through grade seven. The program will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the church, 95 Prospect Street. The camp will include songs, humorous skits, crafts, and games. The entire community is invited to attend. Fire department plans Golf Outing The Midland Park Fire Department will hold its Third Annual Charity Golf Open on May 2 at Great Gorge Golf Club in Vernon. The day includes continental breakfast, cart, 19th hole cash bar, awards, and lunch for $125 per person. Attention: MPFD Golf Registration. Summer camp registration to begin Midland Park Summer Camp mail in registration is underway. Forms are available at http://www.mpnj.com/ mp_rec.asp, at the DePhillips Community Center, and at borough hall. The camp program, open to children entering grades one through eight, is filled with activities and theme weeks. Camp will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 27 through Aug. 5. A once-a-week extended day option until 3 p.m. is available. The cost per week is $65 for the first child, $50 for the second child, and $40 for the third child. There is a $155 a week maximum per family. Space is limited; early registration is advised. Registrations will be taken in the order in which they are received. Registrations should be mailed to Midland Park Recreation, DePhillips Community Center, 50 Dairy Street, Midland Park, NJ 07432 or brought to the recreation center weekdays from 9 to 4.

The management and residents of the Spring Lake condominium, which adjoins the Pulis tract, would also be consulted before any plans are approved. Wyckoff actually owns the land and would probably not require formal variances or site plans, but would ensure that whatever was constructed would not impact unduly or unfairly on neighborhood homes and on traffic patterns. Once drafted and submitted, plans would be reviewed by the Wyckoff Planning Board and the Wyckoff Board of Adjustment. Township committee members and officials, impressed with the dedication of the sports groups, also stressed that all sections of the community would be consulted before any decisions are made. J.
