Mezza Luna’s renovated party location now open

The new restaurant still has the same menu and the same owners, but it’s bigger and there is a large parking lot in the back. Mezza Luna is all about family. Not only are the two venues owned by brothers, but Ed’s son Ronnie is the manager. Before they moved into Allendale, the family owned a location in Glen Rock for 14 years. Many people already also know the Veselis from their sister restaurant, Mezza Notte, which is located in Fair Lawn. The Veselis like the Allendale area and the local residents, and the feeling is mutual: When Mezza Luna’s new location opened last year, the restaurant was busy immediately. Mezza Luna offers $9.95 complete lunch specials that include soup, salad, a choice of various entrees, and coffee. Lunch special entrees include liguini carbonara, grilled chicken with Caesar salad, eggplant parmigiana, veal marsala, broiled sole, salmon

Ed and Adam Veseli, owners of Mezza Luna Bistro Ristorante, welcome the public to celebrate their next special occasion in the restaurant’s completely refurbished party venue at 95 West Allendale Avenue, Allendale. “Our party location is all new,” Ed reported. “We’ve refreshed everything, including the dining room and the outside patio. We have new windows, French doors, new carpet, and new artwork. We’ve deco-
rated in warm colors, and it’s comfortable and very relaxing.” Last year, Mezza Luna’s owners decided to transform the restaurant’s original location at 95 West Allendale Avenue into a destination for all types of events, including Christenings, showers, weddings, anniversary parties, and business meetings. At the same time, the Veselis opted to open a new location right across the street at 96 West Allendale Avenue, where they
piccata, and many others. For dinner, the restaurant offers hot appetizers, including fried calamari, zuppa di mussels, and mushrooms stuffed with crab. Cold appetizer selections include seafood salad, mozzarella luciana, and clams on the half shell. The menu features homemade pasta dishes such as cheese ravioli, fettucini alfredo, tortellini alla figlia (with prosciutto, onions, mushrooms, peas, cream, basil, Romano and Parmesan cheeses), rigatoni quarto formaggi, and “Pappardele Mezza Luna,” which is made with asparagus, shallots, cream, and tomato. Chicken is served francese, sorrentino, rollatini, arabiata, or parmigiana. The house specialty, Chicken Mezza Luna, is stuffed with shrimp, spinach, and cheese and sautéed with wild mushrooms in a brandy sauce.
